- Week 35
- Scripture Reading: – 1 Kings22, 2 Chron 20
- Topic: – Planted in the House of God.
King of Jerusalem
Jehoshaphat King of Jerusalem appointed Worship singers to walk in front before the battle! Enemies were the Moabites & Amorites. [1 Kings22, 2 Chron 20]
Psalm 92:1
It is good to give thanks to the Lord, And to sing praises to Your name, O Most High; 2 To declare Your lovingkindness in the morning, And Your faithfulness every night, 12
The righteous [Know who your Father is] shall flourish [Groei, vrug dra, beskerming, voorsiening] like a palm tree, He shall grow like a cedar [Krag, eerbaarheid, perfeksie] in Lebanon.
13 Those who are PLANTED [Vestig in God, getrouheid, Sy Huis, Sy Woord] in the house of the Lord SHALL FLOURISH [Lewe, oorwinning, guns] in the courts of our God.
14 They shall still bear fruit in old age; They shall be fresh and flourishing, [Even when they LOOK old] 15 To declare that the Lord is upright; He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him. Psalm 122:1 I was glad when they said unto me, let us go into the house of the Lord.
Trees are PLANTED
Psalm 1:3
Trees are planted, otherwise, they will not bear any fruit!
Therefore, God wants us not to be like Potted Plants [No Strong Roots]! Palm Tree & Cedar Tree. Two of the STRONGEST and GREATEST trees that exist!
- Protection [Proverbs 11:14 “Where no counsel [Together with other people] is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety”]
- There is Provision [Phil 4:19]
- Right diet [Matt4:4]
- Hearing the Voice of God [John 8:47]
- He directs your steps [Ps 109:105]
- There is healing [Ps 30:2]
- Even when you die, you shall live [Rom 14:8]
Jesus compares His Kingdom with a bride and with the Local Church
Jesus himself is the DOOR of the pen! There is protection in the ‘KRAAL’!
Matt 16:18
And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock, I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. 19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you lose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”
Your MIRACLE is in the HOUSE of the Lord!
Hebr10:25
not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
God Works Through the Local Church! We are responsible to each other. Be accountable! God created us to be His Church, to be together, to be a caring, loving Community!
Giving thanks continually
[Good thing]
- It delights the Father; it brings unity and reveals God in our midst. He lives in the praises of His people. This is the reason for our existence. All for His glory.
- It develops family, physical as well as spiritual.
- We lose our identity in His presence, all attention on Him.
- It defeats the enemy in your life. King of Judah sent worshippers! Drives the enemy crazy!
- It dethrones our flesh!
God is using two of the most popular & beautiful trees to explain His plan to us. You can immediately see the difference between a person that is PLANTED and one that is a POTPLANT.
Palm Tree [Shall flourish]
- Bending over in the storm
- Bears more fruit as it gets older
- Not just surviving but flourishing
- Deep roots
Cedar Tree [Shall grow]
- Strong
- Durable
- Graceful
- Gives a beautiful Fragrance
We must learn from the History of the Bible; God is teaching us how to live a Victorious life. This is how we fight our battles! Learn how to wait on God.
God bless His wonderful Word.

With your assistance, the volunteers at La Gratitude will be able to take better care of not only the residents at the old age home but also the greater Newcastle community. La Gratitude is constantly involved in outreach projects to help the elderly in need in and around Newcastle.
Your donations will be greatly beneficial in the provision of food and other basic necessities for the less fortunate elderly people that require assistance.
